Building Structures with Marshmallows & Toothpicks

What can you build?

The students started by building a one dimensional shape, this was a great way to reinforce basic geometry. The shapes that worked well included: triangle, square, rhombus, rectangle, trapezoid, parallelogram, pentagon, hexagon.

After reading the book "Great Buildings", some children designed a modern house, an interesting object and even a stick person!

Such a fun project and it makes a delicious marshmallow treat too.
